After spending four seasons at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Ramy Bensebaini has taken a step forward in his career. Shortly after the end of the last season, he officially joined Borussia Dortmund.
The national team defender has been working hard since the start of the pre-season preparations. His efforts in training have paid off, as he put in excellent displays during the friendly matches, including yesterday’s match against Chelsea (1-1).
It is clear that he already shows great ambition to establish himself as a regular starter in his new team. He is well aware that competition for places at Dortmund is fierce, and earning a spot in the starting eleven requires a strong preparation.
Borussia Dortmund’s coach, Edin Terzic, couldn’t praise Ramy Bensebaini enough. In a statement to the German media, he lauded the Algerian defender. “He integrated well into the group from the first training session. He has been giving his all since the start of the pre-season preparations. We are very happy to have him with us… In addition to his defensive role, he is very brave in attack. Moreover, he was present in all the spaces we wanted him to be. We hope he continues on this positive trajectory.”
The Dortmund management is also highly satisfied with Bensebaini’s performance in the friendly matches. They tweeted a photo of Ramy and wrote: “A Fortress in Black and Yellow,” referring to his strong defensive contributions on the pitch.
It’s worth noting that Bensebaini suffered a tibia injury during the friendly match against Chelsea. At the moment, the extent of his injury is still unknown.
